All proposers must use the NSPIRES web-based system to:
- Enter proposal Cover Page information
- Attach the complete scientific proposal, text and figures, in pdf format
- Submit the proposal (via your Institution's Authorizing Official)
Note: Submission of the Cover Page and proposal to NASA is performed in
NSPIRES by an Authorizing Official at the PI's institution.
It is not directly submitted by the PI.
Hard copy proposal submissions will not be accepted.
There are two proposal submission options for non-US based PIs:
This letter to non-US based proposers elaborates on the information
outlined below.
- Submit your proposal through NSPIRES if your home institution is
registered with NSPIRES.
- Or, submit your proposal through the "FUSE GI Support Center"
- This is a special proposal organization created by NASA for the
submission of FUSE proposals by non-US PIs whose home institutions
are not registered with NSPIRES.
- The FUSE Project Scientist, Dr. George Sonneborn , is the Authorizing Official.
- Proposers submitting FUSE proposals through the "FUSE GI
Support Center" must list the "FUSE GI Support Center" as their home
institution in NSPIRES and under "Proposal Team" (PI Team Member Information)
respond with "no" to the question "Is this person participating in this
project as an employee of a foreign organization?"
- To submit the final version of the proposal,
click on the "Release to Org" button
at the bottom of the proposal summary page (entitled
"View Proposal"). You can no longer edit the proposal at this
time. NSPIRES now informs the FUSE Project Scientist that your
proposal is ready to be submitted to NASA through NSPIRES. To
facilitate the FUSE Project Scientist's submission of your proposal,
please send email to
Dr. George Sonneborn at george.sonneborn-1_at_nasa.gov
when you are ready to submit your proposal so he is aware that there
should be a proposal waiting for his attention.
If necessary for cover page submission, proposers should enter a placeholder valure of $0
for the proposed cost of the proposed investigation.
